Our hydrostatic pressure testing equipment has been designed and developed to give high performance on site and accurate results every time. The equipment is built in-house by ourselves and is currently being used by numerous contractors in both Ireland and the UK.
Pipe Types & Testing Standards
Water pipe pressure testing must be carried out after any pipeline is constructed and before it is put into service to prove the integrity of the pipes, joint fittings and other components.
PE & PVC Pipelines Type 2 Test
Pressure Testing of all "Creep Reactive" materials such as PE and PVC Water main need to be completed using test gauges and calibrated pressure data loggers. These record the pressure losses as the molecular structure relaxes and provide the pressure decay data necessary to carry out a thorough analysis of soundness in accordance with IGN 4-01-03.
Ductile Iron, Steel & GRP Type 1 Test
Pressure Testing Pipework such as Ductile Iron, Steel & GRP are completed using the Water Loss / Water Added Test and correlated against the Standard Allowable Leakage Rates set out in IGN 4-01-03.
Our Analysis is carried out in accordance with the Water Industry Information & Guidance Notes IGN 4-01-03. The document is entitled “Pressure Testing Of Pressure Pipes and Fittings For Use By Public Water Suppliers” It includes details of test methods for the various pipe materials. It is used by contractors and testing companies and is the standard quoted in procurement specifications by many water companies including Irish Water. It is also used by consultants throughout Ireland & the UK and is the hydrostatic pressure testing standard for pipe pressure testing.
On completion of a thorough analysis of the recorded and downloaded test data we issue a formal Test Report giving a Pass / Fail result.
